The album I'm most excited about this week is Your Mother Should Know. My introduction to Brad Mehldau was in 1998 when I was at university via his album "Songs: The Art of the Trio Volume Three", and I've been following his career ever since.
- Your Mother Should Know: Brad Mehldau Plays The Beatles by Brad Mehldau
- Big House by Ruisi Quartet
- Elmas: Complete Piano Works, Vol. 2 by Mikael Ayrapetyan
- Weill: Orchestral Works by Heinz Karl Gruber and Swedish Chamber Orchestra
- Gather - EP by Maxwell Quartet
- Rarities - Quartets - EP by Roger Eno and Scoring Berlin
- J.S. Bach & Pärt: Works for Violin & Chamber Orchestra by Arabella Steinbacher, Christoph Koncz and Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra
- Perpetuum by Anthony Romaniuk
- Beethoven: Piano Concertos Nos. 3 & 4, Opp. 37 & 58 by Boris Giltburg, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko
Hopefully, the above recordings will be as delightful as last week's, which I'm hard-pressed to pick a favourite from - if I had to, it would probably be "Steve Reich: The String Quartets" from the Mivos Quartet.
Whatever you listen to this week, enjoy!
